Specialist Clinical Psychology for High-Complexity Lives
At Leazes Clinical Psychology, I offer thoughtful, evidence-based psychological support for adults and young people who want to better understand their minds and create meaningful, lasting change.
Many people who seek support here are thoughtful, capable individuals who may appear to be coping well on the outside, yet internally feel stuck with anxiety, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, or long-standing patterns that are difficult to shift alone.
My work is grounded in clinical psychology, which means sessions focus not only on talking through difficulties but on developing a clear psychological understanding of what is happening and why. Together we build a shared understanding of the patterns, experiences, and pressures that may be contributing to current struggles, and identify practical ways to move forward.
I commonly support people with:
• anxiety, stress, and chronic overthinking
• ADHD and attention-related difficulties
• emotional regulation and burnout
• confidence, identity, and life transitions
• relationship and family pressures
Sessions are collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in psychological science. Many people find that gaining a deeper understanding of how their mind works allows them to step out of long-standing patterns and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and resilience.
I am a Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience supporting children, young people, and adults with a wide range of psychological difficulties. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in Newcastle and have worked across NHS and local authority services throughout the North East. Alongside my private practice, I have held roles working with complex presentations, including anxiety disorders, emotional difficulties, trauma, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD.
My approach is thoughtful, practical, and grounded in evidence-based psychological therapy. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I aim to understand the wider patterns that shape how people think, feel, and respond to the challenges in their lives. By developing a clear psychological understanding together, therapy can move beyond short-term relief and towards lasting change.
I have particular experience supporting people with anxiety, overthinking, emotional regulation difficulties, and ADHD. Many of the people I work with are intelligent and reflective individuals who may appear to be coping well externally but feel overwhelmed internally. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand these patterns, and develop healthier ways of responding to them.
Above all, I aim to provide a calm, respectful, and collaborative space where people feel able to speak openly and think clearly about what is happening in their lives. My goal is not only to help people feel better in the short term, but to help them develop a deeper understanding of themselves that supports their wellbeing long into the future.

Beginning therapy can feel like a significant step. Many people arrive unsure exactly what to expect, or whether talking about their experiences will truly make a difference. My aim is to provide a calm, thoughtful space where we can begin to make sense of what has been happening and consider how things might move forward.
Our first meeting focuses on understanding you and the difficulties you are facing. This involves exploring your current concerns, the context of your life, and any patterns that may have developed over time. Clinical psychology places great importance on developing a clear and shared understanding of these patterns, as this often provides the foundation for meaningful change.
As therapy progresses, we work together to explore the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that may be maintaining the difficulties you are experiencing. Drawing on evidence-based psychological approaches, we look at practical ways to respond differently to these patterns, helping you develop new perspectives and strategies that feel realistic and sustainable.
Sessions are collaborative and paced according to your needs. Some people attend therapy for a relatively short period to work through a specific difficulty, while others find it helpful to take more time to reflect more deeply on longer-standing patterns in their lives.
The goal is not simply to reduce distress in the short term, but to help you develop a clearer understanding of how your mind works and the confidence to navigate future challenges with greater resilience and self-awareness.
I work with adults, young people, and families who are looking for thoughtful, evidence-based psychological support.
Many of the people who seek help are thoughtful and capable individuals who have been managing a great deal in their lives for some time. From the outside they may appear to be coping well, yet internally they may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, persistent overthinking, emotional pressure, or patterns that have become difficult to change alone.
I often work with people who are experiencing challenges such as anxiety, stress, ADHD-related difficulties, or problems with emotional regulation. Some come with a clear understanding of what they would like help with, while others simply recognise that something does not feel quite right and want the space to understand it more clearly.
I also work with parents who are concerned about their child or teenager’s emotional wellbeing. In these situations, support may involve working directly with the young person, supporting parents to better understand what their child may be experiencing, or a combination of both.
Therapy can be particularly helpful for people who are open to reflecting on their experiences and who would value a clearer understanding of how their mind works. The aim is always to provide a calm, respectful space where difficulties can be understood more clearly and where practical ways of moving forward can begin to emerge.

As a Clinical Psychologist, my work is guided by recognised professional and ethical standards.
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the statutory regulator for practitioner psychologists in the United Kingdom. This ensures that my work meets nationally recognised standards of training, competence, and professional practice.
I have over a decade of clinical experience working across NHS and local authority services, supporting individuals, young people, and families with a wide range of psychological difficulties.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based psychological therapies and guided by current research in clinical psychology. This means that the work we do together is thoughtful, structured, and focused on creating meaningful and lasting change.

Therapy sessions are £150 for a 50-minute appointment.
Sessions are available online via secure video consultation.
For many people, therapy represents an investment in their wellbeing and quality of life. The aim of our work together is not only to reduce distress in the short term, but to develop a clearer understanding of the patterns that may be shaping your experiences and to support meaningful, lasting change.
The number and frequency of sessions can vary depending on your needs, and this can be discussed together during our first meeting.
